TYPES OF BRACES

METAL BRACES

Traditional metal braces are the most common type of braces and are more comfortable today than ever before. Made of high-grade stainless steel, metal braces straighten your teeth using metal brackets and arch wires. With metal braces, you have the option of adding colored elastics (rubber bands) for a more unique and colorful smile.

SELF- LIGATING APPLIANCE SYSTEM
The Self–Ligating Appliance system (eg.Smart ClipTM by 3M Unitek) is a unique bracket system that uses self-ligating technology (sliding door technology) that allows the wire to slide back and forth within the bracket. This technology creates less friction and results in greater comfort for the patient. In addition to this, due to its hi-tech mechanism,it requires fewer visits and less chair-side time. The treatment time required is also less.It comes in both metallic and ceramic.

Ceramic BRACES

Ceramic braces are made of clear materials and are therefore less visible on the teeth than metal braces. For this reason, ceramic braces are used mainly by older teenagers and adult patients who have cosmetic concerns and are also preferred by some as a matter of choice.

INVISIBLE BRACES

Clear appliances (such as Invisalign® or Clear aligner®) use a series of invisible, removable and comfortable aligners to straighten your teeth. And, no one can tell you are wearing those aligners because they are invisible! Also, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment, plus brushing and flossing are less of a hassle.

LINGUAL BRACES
Lingual braces have a unique design and fit. They are customized to match the shape of the lingual (or tongue-side) surface of the teeth for optimal comfort and performance. They are hidden behind the teeth and are therefore 'invisible' when one smiles. Lingual braces are a very good option for athletes, models, actors, musicians who play wind instruments and adult professionals.

GOLD BRACES
Gold braces are similar to traditional metal braces in many ways. They are made of stainless steel, but are uniquely coated in gold. The gold coating may be considered by some as a more cosmetic option than traditional metal braces.
